Writer’s Quarry is about mining for ideas. It’s about the pursuit of trying on new forms or new text or new characters and seeing what happens next.

Writer’s Quarry meets twice a month. Our main objective is to workshop manuscripts. Carey McLaughlin and Beth Olmanson are local writers who take turns leading the workshop.

The group reads manuscripts–essays, blog posts, chapters of fiction, text for picture books, poetry–before we meet. We come prepared with constructive, yet positive feedback. We may also spend part of any given workshop writing together. Time will be devoted to responding to a prompt or a theme for the evening.
